BEN GAGE, PRESIDENT OF THE INFOMERCIAL DEVELOPMENT COMPANIES
Since receiving his law degree in 1979, Ben Gage has been actively engaged in the representation of clients engaged in the marketing, licensing and distribution of media projects. With the deregulation of television commercials in 1984, Ben became one of the first attorneys to specialize in the representation of clients involved in the packaging, development, management and operation of infomercial projects.
These projects represent some of the most successful infomercial campaigns in history and include Tony Robbins' "Personal Power" (over $300 million); Tamilee Webb's "Buns of Steel" and "Perfect Abs" (over $200 million); Turbo Jam (over $100 million), "The Flowbee" hair cutting device (over $20 million); Marshall Sylver's Passion, Profit & Power"; Gary Smalley's relationship counseling series and many others.
Through his involvement in these projects, Ben has developed a personal relationship with the principals of the leading full service direct response companies in the world including Guthy-Renker Corporation; Thane; American Telecast Corporation, Good Times, Beach Body and Family Products as well as the top companies which place direct response products for sales internationally, in print, catalogs, the Internet, home shopping and at retail.
In a partnership formed with Guthy-Renker Corporation in 1998, IDC produced and media tested sixteen infomercials. Of these projects, John Beck (over $250 million), Medicus (over $30 million) and Ab Away Pro (over $20 million) have generated consistent revenue for many years.
